The purpose of Clariant Corporate Audit is to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services guided by the Standards of the IIA and a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of Clariant. It assists Clariant in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and to improve the effectiveness of the organization’s governance, risk management and controls. Corporate Audit is guided by the Clariant Code of Ethics, which outlines Clariant’s ethical principles and values to be applied in daily business.

Your role as Senior Audit Manager Analytics & AI will help to shape the future of Corporate Audit by building up and manage the data analytics assurance capabilities and to introduce continuous auditing to be an assurance incubator. You will report into the Head Corporate Audit.

Responsibilities
  • Startup of Continuous Auditing Initiative (requirements definition, vendor selection and procurement process, capital appropriation request, project compliance, promotion of initiative)
  • Develop and own Corporate Audit’s analytics standards, and processes and ensure high quality execution against it.
  • Integrate data and analytics into Clariant Corporate Audit methodology and processes
  • Collaborate with all auditors to understand the in-scope business risks and associated business processes to develop data-driven approach to identify and assess risks and controls.
  • Collaborate with other functions to identify forward-looking opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency and quality of audits and underlying risk management and assurance processes.
  • Interact with management and business partners to identify appropriate data sources and data elements required for analytics, applying professional scepticism when assessing data sources and validating the completeness and accuracy of data received
  • Establish data connection/extraction, analysis and reporting mechanisms, including risk- and performance-based analytics, dashboards, scorecards, reports, and alerts
  • Design governance and a reporting structure for continuous auditing activities
  • Manage the technical aspects of the Corporate Audit analytics and operations functions to ensure alignment with company’s technical solutions and standards.
  • Provides mentoring and guidance regarding use and development of data analytics, automation solution and artificial intelligence to Corporate Audit
  • Designs and provides training in data analytics and tools for Clariant Corporate Audit
  • Serve as the technical leader and mentor for Corporate Audit’s potential analytics co-source partners.
  • Champions and promotes the use of best practices within the data analytics field.
  • Review and advisory on risk and compliance for emerging technologies for the 1st and 2nd lines of defense to strengthen their risk management capabilities and control environment
Requirements
  • 6+ years of relevant/recent data analysis in audit, compliance, controls, risk management, or technology functions experience
  • Solid understanding of audit analytics and continuous audit / assurance
  • Hands-on experience with SAP data analytics
  • Hands-on experience with variety of analytics software platforms: SQL, Python, Galvanize/ACL, Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau or other
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques (machine learning, forecasting, unstructured text analytics)
  • Strong analytical skills. Must exhibit the ability to interpret business issues by using a data analytical approach
  • Strong quantitative, data-intuition, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of internal controls and auditing techniques.
  • CIA/CPA/ACCA/CISA qualification with a Big 4 public accounting firm is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Prior experience with fraud investigation or forensic audit preferred.
  • Strong planning and project and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Self-starter, ability to proactively problem-solve, identify, advocate for, and execute improvements
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and embrace change, thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an added advantage
