We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer Batteries to join our Turbo e-bike Quality team immediately or by agreement to deliver the absolute best cycling experience to Specialized riders around the world. In this role, you will be directly responsible for the development and validation process of our battery packs. The home base of this role will be in our innovation center in Cham (ZG), Switzerland.How You Will Make a Difference
  • Quality Engineer for Battery packs development
    • Support definition of requirements and specifications of battery packs
    • Define validation plan, including lab test and supplier test, to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled
    • Ensure that performance requirements are met
    • Screen and escalate issues emerging from testing/validation
    • Be the ultimate owner of issues emerging during development; be responsible to conduct a structured problem solving of issues, including identification of the root cause and verification of the effectiveness of corrective actions
    • Provide support and clarification on NPI’s (New Product Introductions) process execution and deliverables
    • Work with suppliers to ensure PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) is triggered and executed in time
  • Lifecycle management
    • Ensure requirements for expected life and end of life are added to the specifications as needed
    • Be the subject matter expert for battery packs that are already in the field and provide technical support for field issue resolution
    • Responsible to assess the safety of battery packs
    • Evaluate the need for a hardware running change and validate its effectiveness
  • Technical owner (project based)
    • Transform product requirements into technical requirements and, ultimately into specifications
    • Support the quality team to create test plans and run design reviews
    • Be the main contact for our suppliers and lead supplier communication
    • Monitor issue reports and assign them to the appropriate person to put corrective actions in place
What You Need To Win
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field 
  • 5+ years’ experience in product development, e.g. consumer electronics
  • 5+ years’ experience with design and control of Li-ion Batteries
  • Strong technical project management skills
  • Experience with automotive CAN communication
  • Knowledge of Jira/Confluence (or knowledge in similar Agile Project management tool) 
  • Self-motivated and independent way of working, ability to identify problems and develop solutions
  • Ability to multitask effectively among different projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent communication skills as you will collaborate with and coordinate between hardware and quality engineers, software developers, program managers, and suppliers across the globe (10 - 20% national and international travel)
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken), German or French skills are a plus
