  • Lead the indentification of automation needs across the plant and define strategies for improving installations
  • Draft the roadmap for implementing innovative solutions to meet future challenges
  • Drive the automation project portfolio with the Project Management Office, drawing up project plans, defining priorities and reporting on budget to Novelis regional and global management.
  • Manage specific modernisation projects as required
  • Draft and monitor the 5-year obsolescence plan for critical systems and components
  • Act as a faciliator in risk analysis and in the search for root causes in the event of failure
  • Ensure the roll-out and standardisation of automation and industrial IT initiatives throughout the plant and play an active role in reliability projects
  • Provide ad-hoc support to engineers when required and also contribute to the development of competences
Your Profile
  • Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Automation / Industrial Systems) with a specialisation in industrial automation
  • 10 years + of solid industry experience and in-depth knowledge of different systems and products (ABB, Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • Excellent communication skills with proven track of leading transverse teams
  • Automonous and solution-oriented, you know how to convince and unite people in order to achieve goals
  • Proficent in languages: mother tongue French or German with a very good knowledge of the second language. English fluent wirtten and spoken.
Location ProfileNovelis’ Sierre is located in the Valais of Switzerland employing around 500 people. It mainly focuses on production of aluminium sheet for the automotive market covering the entire process from casting to finishing. The plant also hosts a world-leading Research & Innovation Center specialized in development of new automotive sheet alloys surface treatment and joining technologies. Sierre is nicknamed the “City of the Sun” with an average of 300 days of sunshine in proximity to skiing resorts and famous for its cheese and wine. The Sierre plant supports its community through direct sponsorship of many annual events promoting education sports and culture. In addition it supports student project at technical and high schools.
