As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.

Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).

Your Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer Electrical Systems is responsible to lead:

►the design of the Aircraft Electrical System

►selection of key Electrical System suppliers

►liaison with suppliers during aircraft electrical systems projects

►the Electrical System laboratory and aircraft ground testing

►the development, build and maintenance of an Electrical Systems rig

Tasks

►Perform architecture and functional requirements definition for the Electrical System

►Prepare Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs) for supplier selection

►Follow a project by supporting supplier weekly meeting and specific technical meetings (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)

►Interact with Human Machine Interface (HMI), Safety Team (FHA collaboration), company CVE, and all aircraft systems specialists

►Create Electrical System substantiation and compliance data

►Perform Ground Test and support Flight Test operation

►Perform Bench Testing, problem report investigation and implement required solutions

Your Qualifications & Experience

►University Degree or equivalent in electrical or aerospace engineering

►5 to 7 years of relevant experience in electrical system development and integration for fixed wings or rotary wings platforms

►Experience in aircraft certification processes

►Familiarity With

■EASA and/or FAA certification requirements

■Environmental qualification DO-160 an asset

■Airborne software and hardware development DO-178 and DO-254 an asset
