Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist manages, set ups and co-ordinates all technical and service aspects of a comparator project. This will range from initial discussions with Fisher Clinical Services Project Manager, maintenance of the project requirements, documentation aspects of setting up the project and management of all project related activities through to project/study completion. The role requires a good understanding of clinical trials supplies and the services that Fisher Clinical Services is able to provide. The role requires competent use of Fisher Clinical Services systems and SOPs and will be required to perform to Fisher Quality standards and timelines. The post holder needs to have good organizational, verbal, written and numerical skills. Responsibilities:
  • Working with the client to finalise logistics requirements.
  • To be a source of information on shipping and custom clearance timelines so allowing Project Management to ensure timely delivery of comparator supplies.
  • Controlling the issue of Pro-formas to the recipient country/personnel and the follow up on the return of Import Licenses.
  • Ensuring that the projects are using the most service efficient and cost effective courier.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that activities come together in a timely manner to meet the client and study requirements, especially with regards to the departure of shipments.
  • Checking that the correctly completed paperwork is available to the couriers and customs.
  • Supplying data with regards to logistics timelines to Comparator Project Management and to clients as required.
  • Import licenses – liaison with the recipient country.
  • Review Key Performance Indicators from courier, working with the Team, Leader Distribution to ensure performance is adhered too.
  • Act as liaison with the warehouse pick and pack function with regards to issues resolution.
  • Accuracy - Responsible for ensuring a high degree of accuracy within the Distribution process.
  • Receipt of study materials - Co-ordinate with the customer and other necessary parties for custom clearance of finished goods deliveries from clients.
  • Responsible for all kind of comparator sample shipments and comparator bulk shipments back to sponsor/Fisher Clinical Services Depots.
  • Full back up for the Logistics Manager.

Your profile:
  • 2-3 years experience in project management or related pharmaceutical role.
  • Previous work experience, preferably in a project management / pharmaceutical environment.
  • Project Management Experience and Logistics Knowledge (courier management)
  • Computer Literacy (Excel, intermediary level, ability to work with formulas)
  • Organisation Skills (working to daily and monthly deadlines) Numerical Skills.
  • Excellent communication, project management and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a large team.
  • Capable of working under own initiative with minimum supervision in a high pressure environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to meet customer and department requirements on a daily basis.
  • High level of team motivation.
  • GMP knowledge.
  • Working Knowledge of English and German is compulsory for this role.
