Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Manager, QA Apparel limits Quality risks from product development, supplier selection, raw material, and finished goods production for apparel. The garment specialist is responsible for providing technical and Qualitative support and building strong cross-functional partnerships with Development, suppliers, and Sourcing for Canada Goose Apparels.

Responsibilities
  • For Apparels, define standards with support PIC and of third-party testing partner: RSL testing matrix, product safety including children’s wear safety, performance standard, labelling, GB, visual inspections guidelines
  • Work closely with Product Team, PIC and supplier during the Product Development stage to minimize quality risks (RSL, performance, Labelling and, inspection)
  • In case of vendor provided materials, work with contractors to minimize quality risks (RSL, performance, labelling, inspection)
  • Accountable for ensuring finished product/ TOPs meet Canada Goose product safety, regulatory compliance product quality, product performance and product labeling requirements.
  • Manages TOP & SS testing and ensure to meet GTM calendar timelines for testing to release the shipment on time.
  • Work closely with the Development team of Garments & Accessories to provide qualitative product development support for Apparel as required for products produced in Europe
  • Ensure accuracy of product details during development for the most accurate product execution, and on time delivery at each stage of development
  • Ensure supplier received all raw material correctly to prepare for production
  • Production management communication with suppliers, ensure CG production is going smoothly with on time delivery
  • Deliver into and align with Product Calendar and work with Product Development team on an ongoing basis to align and integrate all assigned categories
  • Ensure brand integrity, quality, size/fit, consistency and adherence to Merchandising Product Briefs
  • Approve and provide feedback on Sales Samples and PPSs
  • Communicate QA standards to suppliers in Europe.
  • In bulk production, work with suppliers to minimize Quality risks
  • Coordinate limited, targeted inspection at RM and FG suppliers when needed
  • Provide Quality performance feedback to suppliers
  • Manage Corrective Action plan on key Quality issues (testing, seconds, returns, warranty)
  • Partake in cross-functional product improvement task force to reduce Customer returns
  • Drive a culture of Quality Assurance, risk preventions to suppliers in Europe
  • Books travel in accordance with the allocated travel budget

Experience, Education and Designations:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Engineering, Business Administration or related program
  • 5-10 years of managerial experience within Apparel manufacturing industry

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong understanding of garment production methods, machinery and processes
  • Knowledge of relevant product range is preferred
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems applicable to manufacturing industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to influence others and resolve conflicts diplomatically
  • Advanced computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Online Applications, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Be innovative, a problem solver with a can-do attitude
  • Experience in RSL, performance testing, GB, and labelling is preferred

Working Conditions:
  • Office and Manufacturing environment
  • Travel: 40% of the time
