We Elevate... Your Responsibilities
In this role as a Senior Engineer you are responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of elevator machines and brakes as well as the analysis and correction of design defects.
Further Tasks Include
- Develop designs for new component and solutions and define interfaces under consideration of overall system architecture, requirements, and production constraints (e.g., cost, quality, space, manufacturing...).
- Ensuring the Quality of implemented solution by performing code reviews, Design and FEM Calculations and Analysis, Simulations, Cost Analysis, Cross Functional Design Reviews and possible testing support.
- Keeping track of technology trends, proposing use of new ideas and technologies in Schindler’s mechanical landscape, and generating proposals and patents for new ideas.
- Analysing code, business and market requirements, aligning with stakeholders, and deriving technical requirements.
- Performing root-cause analysis for findings in collaboration with R&D testing teams and field representatives.
- Maintaining existing components and (sub-)systems by implementing defect fixes and improvement.
- Collaborating with Project Managers and other Engineers globally, sharing information pro-actively and enforce the team’s development standards and design principles and implement continuous improvements to development practices.
You are a self-directed, self-organized, highly responsible, and reliable team player with strong communication skills. Your competency for cooperation in an international and multicultural environment accompanies your analytical and systematic skills.
Further Requirements May Include
- Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Several years of experience in 3D CAD Development Software
- Profound knowledge of stress calculation and modal analysis
- At least two years of experience in FEM calculation and manufacturing methods would be a plus
- Proficient language skills in German and English
