MS&T Self Care EMEA Process Leader

Location: Zug

Permanent: Full-Time

The Manufacturing, Science & Technology (MS&T) Self Care EMEA Process Leader, will have regional accountability with her/his team to work in a regional team to technically transfer, shape, harmonize and drive continuous improvement of production processes. The ideal candidate will be an individual with deep process scientist expertise combined with significant leadership and communication capabilities. This individual will also play a key role in supporting the internal and external Make Self Care plants defining and execute the product strategy for the EMEA supply chain.

The Responsibilities & The Impact YOU Will Have
  • Lead consistent approaches and processes across EMEA in alignment with regional and global technical policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the technical strategy and execution for validation (cleaning, process and packaging validation) of Self Care products in EMEA
  • Provide direction for and review the progress of key projects impacting revenue growth, quality improvements, compliance remediation, and cost reduction. Ensure clear identification of project goals and the benefits to be realized
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional leaders to optimize business results. Provide guidance to resolve issues impacting timely completion/achievement of project goals
  • Participate as appropriate with the global COE’s to deliver value through standardization of key processes include but not limited to Tech Transfer, Characterization, and Validation
  • Support effective product lifecycle and knowledge management the processes in close collaboration with the technical need state leaders and aligned with the EMEA value stream priorities on reliability and process robustness
  • Shape and influence the E2E value stream design for the Self Care need-states, collaborating with each of the supply chain functions and supporting in supporting internal and external manufacturing plants
  • Serve as member of EMEA Self Care MS&T leadership team. Participate in and influence strategic direction and assume leadership of key strategic process initiatives in EMEA
  • Partner with Research and Development to establish and maintain processes for planning, developing, and commercializing new products resulting in well-characterized, validated, highly capable, cost effective manufacturing processes
  • Drive Innovation to meeting project objectives while adhering to cost, schedule, and cGMP/safety/environmental regulations
  • Support direct reports to identify, determine feasibility, and develop innovations to meet customer requirements and drive business results
  • Manage the performance and development of direct reports including goal and objective setting, career and succession planning
  • Prepare, manage, and own direct responsibility for the regional EMEA departmental operating budget
  • Ensure staffing meets requirements to deliver commitments and shape future
  • Partner with Human Resources to assess skills and competencies, develop/execute remediation plans as indicated, and hire/retain key talent


Qualifications

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Engineering is required. M.S., or Ph.D in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Engineering is preferred
  • 8+ years of industry experience is required. Relevant experience includes product/process development of pharmaceutical/OTC products, manufacturing of pharmaceutical/OTC products; R&D, Technical Services, Engineering in pharmaceutical/OTC field
  • Knowledge and application of pharmaceutical/OTC product and process development; life-cycle management of this class of products including strategies for continuous improvement required
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality compliance knowledge within EU and US and good understanding of GxP systems
  • Knowledge and application of pharmaceutical/OTC manufacturing and formulation technologies for liquid and solid dose manufacturing and product development required
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in problem-solving and decision-making; to collaborate with and influence business partner leaders with a focus on data, science, and technology required
  • Ability to constructively challenge cross-functional project teams and business partners to achieve project goals and global make strategic plans required
  • Experience in working with Contract Developing Organizations (CDO) and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO)
  • Experience must include a minimum of 5 years prior people management responsibilities
  • Ability to inform, communicate with, and influence Senior Management regarding validated state of respective products/processes and indicated priorities required
  • Strong collaboration skills required to manage important cross-functional and multiple site relationships, collaboration with partner(s) within MS&T, R&D, Quality and Make
  • Fluent in English language is required
