Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Natural Science Teacher to join our reputable international school offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The successful candidate will be responsible for nurturing young minds’ curiosity and love for the natural sciences while delivering a comprehensive and inquiry-based curriculum that aligns with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development: Design and develop an engaging and age-appropriate natural science curriculum based on the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework, focusing on inquiry-based learning and hands-on experiences.

2. Instruction: Deliver interactive and stimulating natural science lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs and interests of elementary students (typically aged 5-12 years).

3. Hands-on Experiments: Plan and conduct hands-on experiments and scientific activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and observation skills among students.

4. Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging and encourages students to explore and share their ideas about the natural world.

5. Assessment and Evaluation: Implement effective methods of assessing student understanding and progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents to support their academic growth.

6. Environmental Education: Integrate environmental education and sustainability principles into the natural science curriculum, encouraging students to develop an awareness of their impact on the planet.

7. Cross-curricular Integration: Collaborate with other subject teachers and the IB program coordinator to facilitate interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect natural science with other subjects.

8. Field Trips and Outdoor Learning: Organize and lead educational field trips and outdoor learning experiences that provide real-world context and deepen students’ understanding of natural science concepts.

9. Technology Integration: Utilize educational technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences in the natural science classroom.

10. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest developments in natural science education, inquiry-based learning, and IB PYP best practices.

11. Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, keeping them informed about the natural science curriculum, student progress, and any special projects or events.

12. IB Program Requirements: Familiarize yourself with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) standards and expectations, ensuring that the natural science curriculum aligns with the IB framework.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred but not required.

- Teaching certification or relevant credentials in Elementary Education or Natural Science Education.

- Experience in teaching Natural Science in an IB PYP school or familiarity with the IB PYP curriculum is highly desirable.

- Passion for working with elementary students and fostering their curiosity about the natural world.

- Strong knowledge of natural science concepts, scientific inquiry, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.

- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

- Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and exploration.

- Adaptability and a commitment to understanding and respecting diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Note: Be able to relocate to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia within a month, school will provide assistance with paperwork process during the relocation process. More details can be discussed throughout the interview process.

Job Type: 100%

Pay: CHF1,500.00 - CHF2,000.00 per month
