We are looking for a Packaging Modelling specialist, to scientifically lead internal and collaborative projects involving predictive modelling and digital/data assets in the areas of packaging base material, packaging, and product performance.

A Day in the Life of a Packaging Modelling specialist


  • Drive knowledge building and business realted activities on mechanistic and data-driven prediction of packaging and packaging materials
  • Lead key scientific collaboration projects with industry and academia
  • Identify, design, and take ownership of internal & external data on packaging materials to fuel modelling and data projects within the Institute of Packaging Sciences
  • Communicate results and methods to stakeholders, considering the business context and timelines
  • Promote cross-fertilization and dissemination of modelling through networks and webinars
  • Provide training on packaging-related digital tools to product developers and technical experts


What will make you successful


  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the packaging industry
  • Deep understanding of physically-based modelling in material science, packaging processes, and packaging material performance
  • Experience in using and customizing solvers
  • Familiarity with polymer science, including thermo-mechanical properties and processing
  • Technical expertise in rigid and flexible packaging
  • Knowledge of data management principles and their application in the context of packaging-related data
  • Ability to translate scientific requirements into technical requirements for digital experts/software programmers
  • Fluent in English
