Plant Engineering & Technology Manager 944 (m/f/d)


Job Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Plans and executes, directs, and supervises the technical activities and functions in the plant in order to meet the objectives as agreed with the site technical manager; assists the plant manager in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to capacity, operability/ availability, economy, integrity, quality, health, safety, and environment
  • Develops, implements, and monitors the plant maintenance/turn-around activities/strategy, action planand budget
  • Plans, executes, and monitors basic budget/larger plant investments; participates/assists in larger/major investments
  • Takes responsibility for identifying, evaluating, and implementing plant/process modifications
  • Takes responsibility for troubleshooting asset and process problems
  • Assures compliance with technical rules and regulations as well as with company policies, statutes, and operational excellence practices
  • Takes responsibility for an effective plant technical team, empowers its members, and fosters their cooperation
  • Takes responsibility for creating and maintaining plant technical documentation
  • Identifies, evaluates, and implements knowledge and good practice transfer between plant technical managers on site
  • Pro-actively participates in a working group of the Bayer Technology Committee

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in an engineering discipline (BSc or advanced) or another appropriate scientific disciplineor advanced education
  • At least 10 years combined experience in engineering and/or manufacturing knowledge in technical good practices and standards
  • Proven track record of working in project and/or maintenance management roles (including turn-around) within the chemical industry
  • International or at least working experience at different sites/areas are beneficial
  • Strong technical and economical competencies
  • Very good communication and advanced project management skills
  • Very strong and proven leadership skills, ability to steer and motivate a very diverse and large team
  • Good understanding of supporting processes associated with operations & maintenance of a plant
  • Very good knowledge of engineer tools and skills in technical software
  • Fluent in German and English is a must. Any other languages are a plus
