In order to strengthen its Middle Office Origination team in Olten, Alpiq is looking for a person with proven professional experience in the energy or finance business. This job requires initiative and analytical skills and is an attractive opportunity for somebody who likes to be challenged accordingly. The role is ideally based in Olten, but Lausanne could be a possibility.


Your main responsibilties


  • Taking responsibility for the generation and validation of various reports, such as exposures and Profit/Loss calculations from trading activities
  • Consulting and supporting front units in deal capturing, especially for complex deal entries
  • Identifying sources of error and solving them proactively
  • Monitoring portfolio structures and processes interacting with them
  • Analysing key indicators, testing new products in the trading system and supporting several cross-divisional processes
  • Execution of ETRM or BI System tests when new releases appear or assistance regarding migrations of deals or adjustments to trading systems
  • Participating in internal and external projects and/or related project management
  • Being a reliable business partner and in contact with different internal departments such as Front Office, Controlling, Risk Management and Back Office

Your profile


  • Higher Degree in economics or sciences
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of exerience in a similar role, preferably in the energy or finance business, with international scope
  • Solid knowledge of the European power and gas markets
  • Pragmatic, analytical and detailed-oriented
  • Very good project management and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Fluency in English required, additional German, French or Italian an asset
