Description

We are currently looking for a Principal level Business Consultant, based in Basel, Switzerland, to join our fast-growing global Life Sciences Business Consulting practice. The ideal candidate will have deep experience and knowledge of the Life Sciences industry, and will spearhead the expansion of our EU footprint through Business Development, Account Management, Project Delivery Oversight, and Practice Leadership. Responsibilities

  • Business Development and Account Management:

    • Generate opportunities to grow business with both existing clients and new accounts, by developing new business areas, including upselling and cross-selling, in order to deliver on EPAM’s growth and performance objectives
    • Lead pre-sales & sales activities by acting as a deep Life Sciences Subject Matter Expert to assess opportunities, coordinate the preparation of RFI/RFP responses, customer proposals and presentations, statements of work, and help to close/sign new deals
    • Align with EPAM Client Partners, Account Managers, and Senior Leadership to co-develop & support account plans and strategies for delivery, growth, and client satisfaction

  • Project Delivery Oversight:

    • Develops respect and trust from EPAM and client colleagues by being supportive and highly reliable
    • Encourages collaboration to enhance performance within both client and EPAM teams. Encourages and is open to different viewpoints, ideas and contributions to help others feel valued, appreciated and included
    • Identifies opportunities to proactively build strategic relationships – at an individual, account and organization level
    • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring projects are delivered successfully and in line with client expectations and EPAM processes and methodologies
    • Willing take responsibility for team performance and how this contributes to the overall successes of client projects and internal initiatives. Maintain personal accountability for an engagement’s financial performance, and continually evolve our commercial model and its application to winning and delivering client work

  • Practice Leadership:

    • Collaborate with the North America Life Sciences Business Consulting Leadership Team to review and manage an integrated sales pipeline
    • Establish and execute a hiring strategy, in conjunction with the EU Talent Acquisition Team, based on key resource needs (skills, experience, domain knowledge, etc). Build and manage the EU Business Consulting resource pool
    • Leverage knowledge of the EU market to help tailor EPAM’s existing Life Sciences capabilities and services to reflect key market trends and needs
    • Provide leadership and support to the EU Life Sciences Business Consulting team to ensure utilization, revenue contribution, and overall team success



Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience at a Director level with 10+ years of relevant industry consulting experience, or 10-15+ years of combined relevant industry and consulting experience
  • Has an excellent understanding of at least one key domain within the Life Sciences Industry (ex: R&D, Clinical Research, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Commercial)
  • Is a strategic problem-solver with experience leading end-to-end digital transformation programs
  • Is well-versed in managing and leading day-to-day business operations
  • Has a wide network of senior industry professionals and is well known to existing clients or potential clients. Proven expertise in leveraging network to seek opportunities for additional work
  • Exceptional leadership/management skills and superb oral and written communication. Seasoned presentation skills
  • Must be able to travel as needed
  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree; advanced education is appreciated
  • Should be comfortable with a blended utilization and new business target
  • Must be fluent in English
