Private Banker - Swiss Market, Executive Director

Role

The Banker is the face of J.P. Morgan’s Private Banking business. The Banker leads new client acquisition and retention through a broad knowledge of investments, banking, credit solutions and financial planning. This role includes responsibility for the client experience and engaging our resources to deliver a comprehensive wealth management solution to clients. The role is based in Zurich

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and acquire ultra-high net worth Swiss resident clients
  • Maintain and develop book of business, offering holistic advice and solutions across lines of business centered around clients’ needs and objectives
  • Work in a team to leverage and coordinate specialists, including Investor, Credit Advisor and Wealth Advisor to provide interdisciplinary expertise for our most complex clients
  • Manage each client relationship to ensure that the client has a completed profile and that accounts are properly maintained and serviced, specifically adhering to J.P. Morgan Risk Management policies
  • Build trust with clients and effectively manage relationships both externally and internally
  • Engage with and develop network with other lines of business
  • Help to grow and develop junior talent

Performance will be measured in accordance with specific financial metrics and client satisfaction objectives

Requirements

  • Several years’ experience in Private Banking working with ultra-high net worth Swiss resident individuals including family owned businesses and entrepreneurs, executives, single family offices and endowments or related fields within financial services
  • Strong network and reputation within the Swiss private client sphere
  • Previous business development experience including cold calling to source new client relationships is essential
  • Solid experience in prospecting, profiling, negotiation and asking for referrals proactively
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of investments, banking and wealth advisory concepts including, but not limited to: asset allocation on structured portfolios, managed portfolios, brokerage accounts, portfolio reviews, deposit and loan solutions, and identification of wealth planning opportunities
  • Achievement oriented, highly disciplined and motivated, focused on exceeding business goals with meticulous attention to detail
  • Impeccable sense of ethics and values
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment including regulatory and technological developments
  • Ability to thrive in an internal culture that values innovation, customer service, internal partnership and entrepreneurship
  • Strong relationship management, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative team spirit and ability to work effectively in a team are essential
  • Fluent in English and German. Knowledge of French and/or Italian is a plus.
