About Our Client

On behalf of our client, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, we are recruiting a Procurement Category Manager (m/f/w) for the execution and implementation of Procurement projects.

The assignment will be a limited one to start as soon as possible until the end of the year.

Depending on the selected candidate’s performance and motivation, the possibility of being taken over permanently is given.

Job Description

The Procurement Category Manager (m/f/d) initiatives to realize productivity and cost reduction targets in line with the regional category strategy and in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders, promotes the overall strategy within the organization and actively identifies and executes spend reduction activities. Operational excellence, hands-on-mentality, negotiation expertise and market knowledge, by carrying out the following task area:
  • Accountable for execution of sourcing initiatives, procurement projects and negotiations.
  • Identifies and highlights cost reduction and demand management opportunities and share within internal departments.
  • Promotes and communicates our client’s internal guidelines and provides support to business stakeholders in case of questions.
  • Supports day-to-day procurement activities and projects.
  • Ensures operational procurement requests are executed in line with category strategies, and in compliance with relevant policies and operating procedures.
  • Contributes to overall procurement targets like cost reduction, Supplier consolidation, Preferred Vendor utilization etc.
  • Executes the Source-to-Contract process and conducts fact-based negotiations.
  • Manages supplier relationships throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Communicates and promotes the utilization of preferred vendors within the organization.
The Successful Applicant

In order to be considered for this role, the ideal candidate must have:
  • Successfully completed master’s degree in fields such as business administration, finance, law or scientific or technical field is preferred.
  • Strong preference for CIPS or similar professional qualifications
  • At least, 4-6 years of tactical procurement and contracting experience
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken), any other foreign language is a plus.
  • Solid experience in navigating in global, matrix organizations and across geographies and cultures.
  • Extensive experience in sourcing processes, negotiation strategies, project management.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills as well as market analysis capabilities to drive operational excellence.
