About the team you are joining

You will be joining the IATA Certification team based in Geneva and reporting to the Principal, IATA Certification. The Product Manager will be responsible for the management of the operation, safety and security certifications portfolio, including CEIV Lithium Batteries, Smart Facility Operational Capacity (SFOC), Security Management System (SeMS), Baggage Tracking, and the development of new certification programs.

The Manager will interact closely with the IATA Certifications, Training, Marketing and Sales teams and Subject Matter Experts for the execution of the certification strategy and plan.

What Your Day Would Be Like
  • Manage the operation, safety and security certifications portfolio P&L to achieve financial objectives, revenue and operating result and grow its sustainably;
  • Manage the special cargo handling certifications portfolio P&L to achieve financial objectives, revenue and operating result and grow its sustainably;
  • For the various programs of the portfolio, develop the standard manual, audit checklist, guidance document, tools and materials necessary to implement an effective certification program;
  • Manage the delivery of the certification projects to ensure high-quality service to customers including the review and quality assurance of the audit reports prepared by the Independent Validators;
  • Promote the adoption of the portfolio certification programs by the industry, attract new customers, generate leads, prepare proposals, follow-up and manage prospects and negotiate contracts;
  • Engage with key accounts to ensure customer retention, renewal of certification, cross-sell and up-sell other certification programs, products and services;
  • Coordinate the certification sales activities with the Sales team to achieve financial targets; Train the Sales team to ensure proper understanding of the program and build sales capacity;
  • Develop go-to-market plans, collaterals and promotional campaigns in cooperation with the Marketing and Sales teams;
  • Recruit and manage external Independent Validators, ensure they retain the knowledge and skills, and consistently improve the quality of service to meet IATA’s and customer’s expectations;
  • Participate in various industry conferences, workshops, events, seminars and forums as a speaker and panelist to present the certification, increase awareness, generate leads and opportunity identification;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) that are critical for the certification programs;
  • Prepare reports for senior management regarding status of projects, accomplishments, issues, risks and financial status;
We would love to hear from you if
  • University degree (bachelor or postgraduate)
  • 10+ years of working experience in air transport industry with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Safety; aviation safety and quality management systems and dangerous goods operation is highly desirable
  • Proven track record in development and/or management of audit and/or certification programs
  • Knowledge of program and/or project management is a strong asset
  • Excellent PC skills, particularity with MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and MS Project;
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills: able to identify, analyze and resolve issues with a strong sense of attention to details and experience with analysis tools
  • Strong sense of ownership with high standards; high level of motivation and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and perform under tight deadlines
  • Proven influencing and communications skills, including strong public speaking capabilities as well as the ability to generate concise and detailed written reports and presentations
  • Customer-centered mindset in professional interactions
