You will join a highly skilled and dedicated team of engineers and scientists and become key participant in developing lasers and accessories for various innovative applications. The ideal candidate will own the entire production process. They will strategize with other internal teams to ensure operational excellence. The will also run quality assessment to ensure customer satisfaction.

JOB OVERVIEW

Lead of the production team for electro-mechanical assembly, the optics preparation line, and the warehouse. Responsible for production, production scheduling, quality, and safety.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead of the production team includes team structure, resource management, training, work scheduling and ensuring a feedback culture for everyone. Make sure that the production plan is clearly communicated, and production is delivering on-time.

Have a capacity plan for the production lines in place and align with demand and operational planning on expected deliveries. Have a comprehensive understanding of all relevant production steps, closely monitor quantity and quality, evaluate risks, and raise issues with relevant stakeholders.

Manages day to day safety of the production area. Controls the shop floor to ensure cleanliness and safety. Liaises with supply chain for critical components and feedback to planning and purchasing in case of any shortages. Oversea maintenance and calibration schedule for all production equipment. Initiates and executes improvement programs on selected production related issues, including production optimization utilizing Lean Tools & Methods. Liaises with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and R&D to ensure production processes are stable and efficient.

KEY INTERACTIONS

Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineering & R&D. Frequent coordination with Planning, Sales Admin, Purchasing & Warehousing. Close interaction with Quality Assurance.

LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS

Supervises the team. Sets team goals, objectives and KPIs. Reports on progress. Leads people within policy and monitors policy. Advises team on Policy. Sets employee expectations. Monitors and reports on team competencies and job requirements. Monitors and reports on team capabilities and addresses any gaps in capability.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

A relevant Engineering and/or Operational Degree.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Hands on experienced leader. High level of understanding in Lean Tools & Methods. Presentation skills. Strong documentation skills. Multi-tasking and attention to detail.

Comfortable communicating to all levels and to multiple territories.

English and German at advanced business level.

Knowledge in operations management and manufacturing methods.

Methodical and analytical deployment of strategical and tactical tasks.

Experience and knowledge of manufacturing and testing sold-state ultrafast laser systems.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

More than 5 years of experience working within an industrial environment, at least 2 years in a leading position. High level of understanding in Lean Tools & Methods. Presentation and strong documentation skills. Comfortable communicating to all levels and to multiple territories. English and German at advanced business level. Knowledge in operations management and manufacturing methods. Experience and knowledge of manufacturing and testing sold-state ultrafast laser systems. Experience with ERP system, preferably Dynamics 365. Good knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
