The PositionObjective:The objective of the role is to provide support to the Technical Development Teams (TDT - mainly Basel based) in driving pipeline advancement, enable governance decision making and systematically enhance the effective TDT operations across projects.This role will be a key contact for business processes and infrastructure in Basel with good understanding of the EU practice. They will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify, develop and implement business processes enhancements and enable transparent, effective and timely communication of global business processes globally.This position reports to the Head of PTDMM (CMC Project Management).Responsibility:Project managementAs a member of the CMC project management team, this role works with SSF based PMs and the PM leaders to enhance CMC project management practice, by identifying and understanding issues and contributing to the development of improvement actions and drive Basel implementation the overall PM strategy.
  • Partners with a Technical Development Leaders (TDL) to lead and drive TDT operations for assigned products and projects, ensuring clear direction and effective team operations to successfully deliver on the team’s objectives
  • Manage the timeline, resources and risks. Escalate issues and prepare agendas and minutes on time
  • Applies project management expertise including planning, tracking and facilitating TD meetings, activities, and documenting decisions, risks and actions
  • Monitor critical path timelines and resources for assigned TD products using PTDM tools, principles and practices to deliver successfully on time
CMC business processes and operationsAs a Basel contact for Governance and TDT operation team, this role is accountable to the head of Governance and TDT operations in ensuring effective communication of current processes to support Basel based TDTs. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and align the recommendation and implementation to support the TDT effectiveness.
  • Partner with various stakeholders within PTDM and broader functions, (e.g. PTD Finance, Functions) to identify common issues, areas for enhancement and best practices. Provide insight and recommendations for enhancing CMC performance and productivity
  • Participate or lead initiatives to drive business process enhancement and simplification to enable agile and effective TDT operations
  • Play a key role in driving advancement of operation infrastructure, including tools and methodologies
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years+ experience in project management, strategic operations, CMC technical functions, business consulting or related roles within biotech or the pharmaceutical industry with a sound knowledge of drug development processes
  • Advanced degree in science, engineering and/or business or commensurate experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent in collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong influence and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with others in a proactive, positive and constructive manner
  • An initiative taker, proactive problem solver and self-motivated to drive the deliverables
  • Strong ability to independently manage priorities and assignments across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must work well in a matrix organisation with multiple key stakeholders and communicate effectively with all stake holders of the organisation
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing or technical development processes, cGMP’s and compliance experience preferred
  • Willingness and ability to cope with global working hours as needed
