Be part of our mission to disrupt the healthcare and democratise the data driven medicine! SOPHiA is looking for a talented FP&A Analyst to join the FP&A / Business Finance team. This role reports directly to the Director of FP&A.


The position is located in our HQ in Lausanne, Switzerland.


As an FP&A Analyst you will contribute to the annual and quarterly budgeting process, providing analytical and functional support on revenue, expense and headcount planning to budget holders across the organization. You will also drive 3-statement financial model development, enhancement, and maintenance, while supporting internal and external reporting needs on an ongoing and ad hoc basis. This will require you to partner closely with key business stakeholders to understand detailed drivers of the business, identify efficiencies, and perform ad-hoc financial analyses to support investment decisions. Lastly, this role will require you to create financial models, presentations, and dashboards to provide to senior finance leadership and executive teams with actionable insights.




You will:
  • Build and maintain rigorous analytical tools and reporting to measure business results, key success metrics, financial performance, and support forecasting leveraging core systems infrastructure as appropriate and creating new capabilities as required.
  • Ensure financial statements accuracy by reconciling account balances and advising on journal entries within tight month-end deadlines.
  • Understands budgeting, planning and operational data, to run reports and develop ad-hoc reports using MS Excel and standardized planning tools.
  • Track and maintain headcount forecast for all changes in headcount, and supports planning and budgeting effort.
  • Works collaboratively with Finance Team in preparation and distribution of standard business unit reports, including month-end reports and information reports for quarterly compilations and year-end audit.
  • Create strategic business cases and work closely with technical partners.
  • Collaborate, support and advise business partners on strategic and financial aspects of the business with an eye to financial goals.
  • Project manage several company-wide initiatives to drive cross-functional decision making and communications to achieve business goals.

  • Manage the standard costing calculations within the Financial Systems (D365).
  • Participate to the R&D cost reporting to assist in reviewing the R&D projects and the timesheets.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in FP&A roles or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience in Supply Chain cost management on a manufacturing site would be highly appreciated.
  • Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to build 3-statement financial models with detailed buildups.
  • Basic knowledge in SQL and at least one data visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, etc.) is a highly valuable asset.
  • Exposure to one or more major Cloud based SaaS EPM applications (i.e. Oracle Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan).
  • Excellent communicator who is clear and concise in explaining complex data sets or analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure problems, analyze data, and convert to actionable insights.
  • Ability to multi-task and execute special projects as they arise.
