The EMEACLA Business Operations VP role’s key focus is to develop and drive the operational strategy across Business Units and the Region to enable Edwards growth objectives.
The role will collaborate with the Corporate functions to ensure alignment in Business Operations strategic objectives whilst best adapting the global technology solutions to the needs of the Region. Its scope includes Customer Operations; Internal Procurement; Facilities; EHS; Business Process and Digital Transformation.

Key responsibilities:
Works with the EMEACLA BU’s and Regions to support their key strategic objectives with the best technology solutions (in particular on Therapy Development and Healthcare Capacity Enhancement)

Works in close collaboration with Global IT to enable the best IT strategy for the Region (data management, business technology platforms, systems and tools)

Delivers best in class customer Operations, partnering with the BUs to optimize Offer and Contract Management as well as Customer Services, also including strong contribution to continuity of supply and inventory optimization

Provides expertise and best in class services in process business improvement and project management for the region

Leads the regional Environmental and EHS Strategy for the Region

Drives Indirect procurement for the Region

Drives the Regional Facilities strategy and execution, partnering with HR and country leadership teams to enhance our facilities as best places to work

Leads business operations organizational transformation for the Regional central organization, as well provide guidance and support for LATAM business operations transformation

Leads Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Office Management for the Nyon Site

Experience Required for the role:
Senior Leadership experience in business operations management at a global or regional level

You ideally bring a business experience combined with strong operations background gained in a matrix/complex environment

Experience working in a regulated industry Preferred

Proven success in deploying regional projects in the field of operations

Additional Skills:
  • Proven expertise in Business Intelligence, Customer relationship management and related tools and systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
  • Expert understanding of Operations procedures (particularly sales operations, SOX, ISO compliance; project management and portfolio management) with extensive and detailed knowledge of company allowing for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas
  • Expert understanding of related aspects of operations processes and/or systems
  • Expert knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to regional operations, in particular spend management within procurement and country budget management
  • Demonstrated ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of EMEAC&LA operations to the business
  • Serves as core partner to senior leaders in Business Units, Functional Groups, and Regions
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
  • Ability to work and excel within a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
  • Interacts internally and externally with executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters; influences policymaking
  • Dedicated to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs
  • Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness
  • Provide leadership and direction to large cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions
  • Develop relationships and leverage them to influence change
  • Support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
