ABOUT THE JOB
Job purpose
In usual business as usual, the Actuarial function is already heavily involved in explanation of financial results and performance metrics to various stakeholders. With the introduction of IFRS17, involvement of the Actuarial function in financial reporting is increasing. The Actuarial function is heavily involved in the design phase of IFRS 17 and the increased involvement will continue after new accounting standards become effective.
The role holder, while being part of the regular Reserving process and supporting the Chief Actuary with various opinions, will focus on the collaboration with other functions (mainly the Finance function) on financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Support the implementation of IFRS17
Collaborate with the Finance function on analyses and reporting of the results
Support the quarterly reserving process
Support the Chief Actuary with regulatory opinions and analyses for internal stakeholders
Collaborate with other functions, on various topics including business planning and underwriting performance
Prepare ad hoc calculations and reporting for the MS&AD head office
Prepare ad hoc analysis/reporting for FINMA and other regulators
Key skills / qualifications / experience
Experience with IFRS17
Reserving experience in the general (re)insurance industry
Good communication skills, team spirit; work ethics, proactivity and high working flexibility
Educational background in mathematics, natural science or any another quantitative discipline
Numerate and analytical mind-set, good problem solver; strong aptitude for appropriately applying professional judgement
Strong technical and data-handling skills
Excellent verbal and written skills in English; any other language would be an asset
Ability to work independently and under pressure
