Research and Teaching Assistant (Bachelor/Master) (m/f/d)

20-40 % (unlimited, by 15.07.2023 until 14.07.2024)

Your tasks

  • Supporting research in environmental and resource economics.
  • Support with the preparation of teaching materials for classes in environmental and resource economics.

Your work portfolio will be carefully constructed to include opportunities for the development of your programming and econometric skills. Our team works very closely together, and active knowledge sharing is the norm while working in an agile way. A network of highly motivated researchers at the SIAW-HSG will enable you to broaden your horizon in applied economics.

Your profile

We are looking for a reliable team member who
  • has a very good foundation in statistics or econometrics
  • hits the ground running with data-wrangling projects in R and/or Stata
  • applies critical thinking to data
  • has a working knowledge of LaTex and citation software or is willing to familiarize themselves with relevant software packages
  • is intrinsically motivated to solve complex problems
  • has an interest in environmental and resource economics and ideally has taken classes in this field in the past
  • confidently expresses themselves in English

The Swiss Institute for International Economics and Applied Economic Research (SIAW-HSG) is looking to hire a research and teaching assistant to join the chair of Professor Sabrina Eisenbarth. This part-time role is suitable for individuals that are driven, fast learners, careful yet efficient, and want to work towards solutions to environmental problems. Everyone in our team holds themselves and others to very high standards. The initial contract length is 12 months but may be extended thereafter.
