Climeworks captures CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations to come.

We develop, build and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines, which capture CO₂ directly from the air. The air-captured carbon dioxide can either be recycled and reused as a raw material or completely removed from the air by safely storing it underground, permanently.

Will you join us?
  • Your mission at Climeworks is to carry out laboratory work, finding a way to scale the gram to kilogram synthesis in 1-5 L reactors.
  • You optimize reactions by scrupulous control of reaction parameters.
  • You propose alternative reaction conditions and synthesis pathways.
  • You are responsible for the monitoring reaction outcome using analytical techniques such as BET, mercury intrusion porosimetry, FT-IR, titration, CHN analysis.
  • You interpret analytical data and take appropriate action.
  • You purify reaction products and test them for CO2 capture.
  • You perform general lab duties and maintain a high standard of order and cleanliness.
  • You ensure an accurate and regular documentation of experimental work using lab journal.
  • You summarize the weekly progress and take part at internal meetings.
  • You have an completed an apprenticeship as laboratory technician or higher education (BSc, MSc), specialized in polymer chemistry.
  • You bring excellent skills in synthetic organic and polymeric chemistry.
  • You have the ability to plan and accurately document practical work.
  • You have a safety-first attitude, compliant with process safety best practice.
  • You have a hands-on attitude, problem-solving skills, positive mindset and good communication and team-working skills.
  • You have an organized and tidy personality.
  • You bring flexibility for changing work assignments.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and oral, German is beneficial but not required.
