About The Department

Within NX, the Information Products and Data Sciences (IPDS) group seeks to maximize the value of data to NIBR scientists by providing intuitive, well-integrated software solutions, intelligent data management strategies and tools, and thoughtful application of data science methods. Together, these capabilities optimize the capture, standardization, integration, analysis, interpretation, and flow of data throughout the enterprise.

About The Role

As a Scientific Product Manager, you will join a Scientific Product Line focused primarily on portfolio of a few dozens of software products that enable registration, maintenance and tracking of scientific entities and information (examples: samples, containers, experiments, assays and their lineage and properties) into global systems, integrating with other products and product lines

You will develop and continually update visions for multiple globally deployed, high-impact scientific software products necessary for NIBR drug discovery. Working in collaboration with other Product Managers within your product line and across all product lines, you will contribute to an integrated product suite. You will also lead a matrixed, cross-functional product team consisting of software, data and infrastructure engineers, business analysts, designers, and user supporters and trainers that is responsible for delivering on your product roadmap.

You will exemplify excellence in product management, combining your knowledge of science and drug discovery to create or license software that advances and supports NIBR science. You will develop and manage a product roadmap and define how we measure product success and value delivery for your product.

You will deliver consistent, stable product operations, and meet all security, stability, usability, performance, and sustainability requirements. You will energetically promote your product, give demos, and show the impact of your product on NIBR science.

Your responsibilities:
  • Synthesize user input into a vision and roadmap for your product
  • Accountable for delivery by the cross functional product team, prioritizing and managing product backlogs
  • Lead on globally-deployed, high impact set of systems and see it through a major upgrade in the near term
  • Define, monitor, and achieve product success and value metrics
  • Contribute to overall business architecture and cross product vision
Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
  • A successful candidate must have product management experience as well as domain knowledge in a core drug discovery scientific discipline such as biology, chemistry, or computational sciences.
  • Ability to develop and promote a shared vision
  • At least 5 years of experience in product management in a complex matrix environment
  • 10+ years of experience in drug discovery or a core supporting scientific field.
  • Experience with globally-deployed large user base, highly integrated, complex systems
  • Experience of large scale system implementation, migrations or replacement, integration of vendor products into complex product eco-system
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related scientific field. PhD preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills
