Scientist – EV Charging Infrastructure Research 100% (f/m/d)

Job content

• Industrial research in the area of EV charging infrastructure with focus on novel megawatt-scale and bidirectional vehicle-to-grid charging solutions for long-haul trucks, mining vehicles and ships
• Explore, develop and techno-economically benchmark new technologies and concepts for the system architecture, the topologies and components, the cooling and the mechanical layout
• Keep a holistic view on the entire system and analyze trade-offs and synergies from the grid interface down to the EV
• Collaborate with our digital experts on smart charging and advanced fleet management schemes
• Build up and drive a global research community around the topic of EV charging in collaboration with colleagues from different disciplines
• Establish a network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise
• Propose, contribute to or lead co-creative research projects together with our Hitachi Energy business units and research centers, external universities, and industrial partners
• Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
  
  

• PhD in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
• Proven track record in science or industry in the area of EV charging infrastructure
• Know-how on related integration topics such as cooling, grid integration and mechanical integration
• Experience with similar applications like power supply infrastructure for battery energy storage, electrolyzers or datacenters is a plus
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, team player attitude, initiative, and creativity
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
