  • Deliver IGCSE and DP curriculum
  • Liaise with the curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of IGCSE and IBDP Biology and Integrated Science programs
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation and review of assessment and reporting systems
  • Promote the health and safety of assigned classes, especially in a lab-based environment
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to regular staff training/meetings
  • Encourage the team spirit in the secondary school and develop links with colleagues across the school
  • Contribute to community service and global citizenship goals
  • Contribute to the extra-curricular activities program of the school
  • Bring initiatives to help build and further develop an already successful science department
  • Contribute to the development of a positive attitude between Biology and the wider community through cooperative relations
  • Enhance the professional standing of the faculty
Qualifications And Skills
  • Qualified Teacher Status appropriate to the teaching duties to be undertaken
  • Experience of teaching IGCSE and IBDP Biology preferred, but MYP and/or A level experience is acceptable
  • Be adept and accomplished at teaching KS3, IGCSE and DP Biology and Integrated Science to students age 11-18 years.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international school
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English
  • Be enthusiasm for their subject and by using a variety of styles
  • Be able to inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
  • Be able to support student needs in learning and pastoral matters
  • Have a high level of awareness of current developments in Science and Biology education
  • Have the ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload
