About the department

As a key driver of Novo Nordisk’s future growth, International Operations (IO) is the largest operational unit in Novo Nordisk and covers more than 190 countries and 95% of the world’s population. Around 430 million people are living with diabetes in these countries and an estimated 570 million live with obesity. We serve 25 million people each day living with chronic diseases. Novo Nordisk International Operations, Strategic Operations (IO-SO), is head quartered in Zürich, Switzerland.

The position

As the Senior Director, IO Patient Innovation, Legal and Compliance, you will be responsible for advising IO in the developing area of patient engagement and patient-centric innovation, including the entry into new therapy areas, the building of new ways of operation and new digital activities. In this position, you will ensure Bold & Compliant solutions for the benefit of patients and the business. You will act as the Legal and Compliance expert for all matters related to Patient Innovation, providing strategic leadership for driving the Patient Innovation agenda.

You will drive Patient Innovation understanding and knowledge, ensuring fast and clear solutions across IO, acting as a link between Global and IO, and as a close advisor to IO-SO units and the IO EVP.

Furthermore:

  • You will drive the development of relevant strategies, establish a strong network of responsible stakeholders across the regions and key market, within LCQ or Commercial, and ensure the implementation of related strategies and guidance.
  • You will ensure the continued understanding of patient innovation legal and compliance through raising awareness, trainings, roadshows, and providing coaching.
  • You will provide legal support to external collaboration and partnerships on patient innovation solutions and support dialogue with public authorities and enforcement agencies, with the goal to help to drive modernisation of industry or legal standards related to patient innovation solutions.

Qualifications

  • You hold a Master of Law degree and ideally also hold a business or digital-related degree.
  • You bring top level legal professional experience in industry, driving consumer-centric innovation and change.
  • You bring experience in global, digital projects and business transformation related to preferably patient or consumer-centricity.
  • You bring experience working in cross-functional teams, working in international, culturally diverse environments, and building networks and demonstrating leadership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have strong understanding of macro business and industry-specific trends, with experience working with public authorities, enforcement agencies and industry organisations.
  • You bring international experience and have worked in multiple jurisdictions.
