Summary Of The Role

The Senior Director Planning Excellence is responsible for the strategy development and execution of the end-to-end planning capabilities for Johnson & Johnson Vision including people, processes, technology and data. This position requires an experienced supply chain professional familiar with the latest developments on process modelling and analytics, data management process, advanced planning systems, and ERP. The role requires global change management experience aligning multiple business partners at various levels in the organization and across supply chain functions.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Outline critical planning processes that are required to drive short-term impact to improve the Customer Experience, Capital Efficiency and Profitability. Take clear ownership for transforming these processes through a specific strategy, organizational change process, governance, and deployment.
  • Develop, deploy, and embed longer term a strategy for planning capabilities that positions the supply chain to deliver the right level of service in a cost driven manner (benchmark cost, inventory, and customer experience).
  • Engage global partners in developing and End to End supply chain planning design that support both Commercial and Customer requirements. Design includes aspect of people, process, technology and data.
  • Stabilize and improve business planning processes completed across 300+ partner community to deliver accurate supply projections.
  • Own setup and ongoing maintenance of the largest master data set for planning systems across J&J.
  • Build and deploy organizational training and development curriculum.
  • Improve the planning operating model (organizational design, core processes, systems, tools and governance) to engage and inspire talent through value-added fulfilling work design, while effectively delivering business needs
  • Prepares and manages the LRFP and business plan.

Qualifications

Education, knowledge, and skills:
  • A Bachelor’s degree is minimum required; an advanced degree Masters/MBA in the area Engineering / Supply Chain / Business is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years People Management experience, leading Leaders.
  • Advanced understanding of end-to-end supply chain, preferably in Medical Device Industry with strong financial understanding.
  • Identifying new partnership opportunities, determining efficient relationship conditions/model (licensing, co-promotion, acquisition), and driving these relationships.
  • Articulating a vision, engaging, and mobilizing employees around that vision, and delivering outstanding value.
  • Ability to drive & apply continuous process improvement tools and improvements to large and complex projects.
  • Has strong business sense – understands the business; portfolio, markets, customers, challenges, and demands.
  • Experience in demand & supply planning is required.
  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, or pharmaceutical companies is required.
  • Detailed business understanding of Advanced Planning Systems, Data Analysis tools, and ERP systems is required.
  • Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification are preferred.
  • APICS or IBF certification preferred.
  • Organizational change experience is required.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing within a matrix organization is required.
  • Proven record of successfully managing teams in development and improvements projects including technology transfer is required.
