Senior IT Administrator

On behalf of our client, the world’s leading small ship travel company, we are looking for an experienced IT Systems Specialist to join their dynamic team. This is a permanent position in the Canton of Basel, you need to be fluent in English, and ideally, you’re able to start as soon as possible.

Main Tasks:

  • Creating and updating documentation regarding maintaining knowledge
  • Collaboration with various IT Teams (mainly infrastructure) and business units to enable solutions for their lifecycle
  • Interaction with external vendors in regard of hardware replacement and problem solutions
  • Installation, reparation and maintenance of equipment and systems, monitoring system performance, as well as troubleshooting
  • Complex problem solving in cross-technical teams
  • Supporting construction of new builds
  • Diagnosing network problems and coordinating resolution
  • Monitoring of SW, HW and servers
  • Ensuring deployment of new software and applications



Your Profile:

  • Preferably you possess a Bachelors or Master degree in Computer Science
  • Prior work experience of at least 4 years in a similar role
  • Knowledge for networks, if possible with a CCNA or higher
  • Further skilled with: Powershell, Hyper V, Citrix, Active Directory deployments
  • Experience with MDM Solutions and deployment with IOS, OSX
  • Some Linux Ubuntut experience
  • Excellent time management skills
  • You are comfortable in dealing with Senior Stakeholders
  • Outgoing personality who likes to be in contact with guests and internal clients
  • Ready to travel the world on a 70% basis (mainly Europe), travels are all-inclusive
  • Fluent English, any other languages are a plus



Location: Basel

Start date: ASAP

Role: Permanent role

Workload: 100% (70% travelling onboard a cruise ship)
