About the team you are joining

IATA’s Legal Services and Corporate Secretary (LSCS) Team is responsible for providing support to IATA’s Corporate Secretary and General Counsel. The Senior Manager Governance Corporate Registrations (SMGCR) plays a critical role in managing and advising on matters relating to IATA’s legal status and business registrations in approximately 165 jurisdictions. The role is part of a team that includes IATA Membership and Governance and reports to the Assistant Director Governance and Membership.

What your day would be like

You are an expert in governance and corporate compliance and will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining processes and policies relating to corporate registration in line with IATA’s governance documents, Articles of Association and Canadian Special Act of Incorporation, and in compliance with applicable legislation and local business prerequisites. As SMGRC, you will support the Corporate Secretary in corporate compliance processes, including filings with government authorities, and the corporate management of IATA’s subsidiaries and branches.

You will play a central role in IATA’s corporate registration compliance, providing expertise and facilitating coordination across other teams in IATA, including:

  • IATA’s regional and local offices, who are responsible for corporate filings in their respective jurisdictions;
  • Corporate services, including the compliance team and tax team, who are responsible for financial filings; and
  • Legal, notably to ensure compliance with data privacy policies.

You will also be the focal subject-matter expert for an ongoing project to review corporate compliance requirements across the jurisdictions IATA operates in.

You will communicate to senior management and IATA staff on matters relating to corporate registration compliance, including leading presentations to staff from time to time.


We would love to hear from you if

You are a legal professional with 7 to 10 years of experience in governance, corporate compliance and registrations.

You hold a relevant university degree preferably in law from an internationally recognized university.

You have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with colleagues from various backgrounds and cultures and establish strong team relationships.

You are innovative in your approach to your work.

You are committed to personal development and continued learning.

You have excellent command of English and superior written and oral communication skills. You are an effective, confident communicator.

Note, Knowledge of and experience with the regulations that apply to Canadian Special Act Corporations and Not for Profit Organizations is not required but would be an asset.
