As a “Senior Prototype Development Specialist”, you will establish and build competence in product/process/ technology development according to project briefs by applying functional knowledge, skills, and experience to support product innovation teams from ideation through pilot scale. Scope of the projects will range from science driven to consumer trends with application in any of the Nestlé categories. While developing these innovative products ensure food safety, regulatory compliance and scalability.

This job will support the development of products for Nestle Research and the Accelerator as well as support the development and manufacturing of investigational products for clinical trials.

A day in the life of a Senior Prototype Development Specialist
  • Develop prototypes using innovative ingredients/processes with ideas generated by project teams based on consumer insight.
  • Design, plan and execute bench and pilot plant trials. Prototypes to comply with all corporate guidelines as well as deliver in agreed timelines.
  • Provide accurate and on-time support to project teams with effective (quality, cost and on-time) and sustainable solutions
  • Work in close collaboration with culinary chefs, scientists, and project managers.
  • Integrate basic knowledge (or knowledge from other fields) in the interpretation of the results
  • Present results/methods in written and oral form to project managers and business stakeholders
  • Actively connect to expert network to promote cross-fertilization between different sites (NR, R&D, Org. Units)
  • Identify internal and external partners to bring products to life
  • Coach Product Developers

What Will Make You Successful
  • Master’s degree in food and product development
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product development with Factory experience as a plus
  • Liquid handling process experience a plus (e.g. UHT, Homogenisaiotn, Aseptic)
  • Product launches in different categories is a plus
  • Knowledge of quality, safety and hygiene requirements
  • Open, flexible and creative mindset with demonstrative experience in coaching
  • Fluent in English
  • Project Management skills
