Procurement is a key enabler in driving and supporting Johnson & Johnson’s growth. Being part of a procurement organization, the incumbent in this role will be driving and/or supporting all aspects of spend performance such as reliability, innovation, costs, supply network readiness and corporate citizenship goals collaborating with the wider procurement, and supply chain community.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Sourcing
  • Leads or supports sourcing initiatives to identify the right supplier partners and build adequate material capacities to support business
  • Develops spend analysis and gathers market intelligence in alignment with business goals
  • Influences business decision making to deliver ongoing value improvements and drive competitive advantage

CATEGORY STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT
  • Develop / Support category sourcing strategy for defined portfolio through Business needs assessment, Market intelligence, Supplier evaluations and sourcing choices
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of the business needs and external market trends to support the development of robust sub- category strategies
  • Proactively engages business partners and/or category managers to identify their needs and incorporate those needs into sub-category strategies
  • Develops and drives robust implementation of strategy and communication plan with defined buying channels and contracting strategies
  • Establishes compliance reporting capabilities and track business compliance to strategies

SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT
  • Develop and manage supplier partnerships / external manufacturing partnerships to drive performance delivery, risk mitigation, and value through supplier enabled innovation
  • Cultivates and leverages strategic relationships with key business partners (e.g., Internal stakeholders, supplier leadership, SRM/category leaders) to shape, optimize, and diversify the supply base
  • Develops innovative and sustainable solutions to identify and mitigate risk, drive long-term, end-to-end value, and achieve unmet business needs. Identifies and pursues opportunities to develop supplier capabilities

CONTRACTING
  • Mitigates business risk through the understanding of commercial, legal and regulatory requirements and the use of efficient contracting channels leveraging standard processes and technology
  • Uses procurement expertise and global business understanding to monitor the negotiation and execution of contracts
  • Ensures that agreements and the way they are executed meet business demands of all stakeholders and are aligned with the organization’s overall procurement and business strategy

AGILE PROJECT SUPPORT
  • Leads, supports or engages as procurement expert in the projects ranging from contracting, supply reliability, innovation and new product development
  • Act as procurement expert in support to cross material category specific or cross category initiatives (may include Chemicals, Biologics, API, EM, Packaging)
  • Represent procurement in End-to-End supply chain initiatives of manufacturing network, digital tools/ technology adoption and resiliency

Qualifications
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree is required; preferably complemented by MBA or master’s qualification
  • Minimum of 6 years of related work experience is required
  • Demonstrated skills in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category and Supplier Management preferable
  • Strong stakeholder management skills working with cross category, supply chain and other functional partners is required
  • Strong business and finance acumen, deep understanding of managing for impact in complex matrix environment is required
  • Proven/demonstrated ability to influence, partner on & shape projects with/without direct team/authority is required
  • Ability to engage, interact and negotiate value enhancing relationships with suppliers is required
  • Experience in complex stakeholder environment; rich influencing skills; understands complexities of Regulated industries
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization effectively and efficiently moves through transitions
  • Travel up to 10% may be required (travel rules apply)
  • Pharmaceutical supply chain background preferred
  • Knowledge of external manufacturing and partner management preferred
