Facing the challenges of our timeHelp us grow and be more impactful!The “c-Si Solar cells” group of our “Sustainable Energy” Business Unitbased in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, is currently looking for a: Senior Technician.Your missionYour mission will be to contribute to the technical execution of cutting-edge R&D and industrial projects in the field of crystalline silicon solar cells with a special emphasis on the development of sustainable materials. This encompasses (i) the development and characterization of copper metallization deposited by electroplating and thin films of indium-free transparent conductive oxides, (ii) the fabrication of crystalline silicon solar cells based on these materials, and (iii) their characterization using CSEM’s state-of-the-art facilities, as well as the communication of the results and the scheduling of the next steps with the team.Your ResponsibilitiesYour main responsibilities are the following :
  • Development of copper electroplating technologies for solar cells at CSEM
  • Development of chemical etching to pattern individual devices featuring various geometries
  • Development of indium-free transparent conductive oxides deposited by sputtering
  • Fabrication of high-performance solar cells using PECVD, PVD, and ALD tools
  • Performing characterization and metrology of the fabricated solar cells (ellipsometry, spectrophotometry, Hall effect measurement, current-voltage curves, etc.)
  • Performing data analysis and share the results with the team to guide the developments and to define next action
Your profileKnow-how
  • CFC laborantin en physique, chimie, or in similar field
  • Work in clean-room environment
  • Basics in chemistry, materials science, opto-electronics, and microfabrication
  • Know-how in electrochemistry, ideally electroplating or similar
  • Know-how in vacuum-deposition tool, ideally sputtering
  • Languages: ideally fluent in both French and German; if not, basic English

  • Resourceful and proactive, able to jump from one task to another in an efficient way
  • Versatile and agile for being able to handle changes in the dynamic environment of R&D for renewable energy
