About the role

As the Site Head for Takeda’s BioScience Plant in Neuchâtel, you will work on-site to inspire and guide the manufacturing team to deliver results for production performance, financial targets, and the highest compliance and safety standards so that the Plant can bring our purpose, values, vision, and imperatives to life. The Neuchâtel plant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week and you will have direct responsibility for all manufacturing operations, manufacturing science, project management, engineering, supply chain, business excellence, finance, human resources, and environmental health & safety (EHS). You will do this in partnership with the plant’s Head of Quality and you will report directly to the Head of the Biologics Operating Unit within Takeda’s Global Manufacturing & Supply business function.

How You Will Contribute
  • Recruit and retain top talent, and build succession plans for management and important knowledge positions
  • Manage the Neuchatel manufacturing operations following the Biologics’ Operating Unit goals, ensure well-defined processes, adequate life cycle management, and optimize yields and capacity
  • Support the implementation of new products, new processes, and technologies in cooperation with Global teams such as Engineering, Business Excellence, and Supply Chain
  • Lead the Project Management Office and their goals to help them achieve ambitious operations, quality, and team goals
  • Manage the costs and resources according to plan.
  • Report to the OpU and manufacturing network on the status of operations, performance standards, achievements, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Host inspections by third parties (e.g., inspections by notified bodies and by regulatory agencies) and assure implementation of commitments to regulatory agencies.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, engineering, or another related technical field. MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of related experience, with 10+ years of leadership and management experience required.
  • 5+ years’ Experience delivering on Plant performance and investment targets
  • Change management and people management skills
  • Inspiring leadership including in times of uncertainty
  • Proficiency in conversational French and business proficiency in English is required
  • Continuous improvement knowledge (e.g., Black Belt/Lean/Six Sigma certification)
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization

Important Considerations

As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product or putting anyone at the site in harm’s way. In this role, you may
  • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
