Hitachi ABB Power Grids High Voltage Products is the globally recognized specialist in power transmission and distribution. The service unit is responsible for worldwide after sales support of generator circuit breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgear (GIS) including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, additional services, troubleshooting, upgrades, rebuilds and replacements. Service is the key to success. As a colleague in our globally active service team, you will appreciate the independent, varied and solution-oriented work. After a versatile, practice-oriented training in Switzerland, you will manage new GIS installations around the globe. A technically challenging position in a multicultural environment awaits you.

Your Responsibilities
  • Managing multicultural construction sites worldwide for gas insulated switchgear for the voltage level of 110KV - 550KV
  • Responsible for the successful execution of the on-site installation in compliance with contractual deadlines and taking into account local legal requirements.
  • Responsible for the quality of work performed on site through quality control and assessment of skills of local support staff.
  • Conduct on-site product training on the product and during installation.
  • Responsible for evaluating risks and minimizing them.
  • Coordinate labor force and provide direction to them.
  • Cost control of resources used and report regularly to project management.
  • Actively collaborate on process improvements and proactively take action to improve efficiency of on-site activities.

Your background
  • Completed apprenticeship in the metal construction, electrical or automotive industry
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering is a must, further training in electrical engineering is an advantage
  • At least 5 years of work experience, experience of construction site management is an advantage
  • Commercial or technical further education such as technician is an advantage.
  • Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English, minimum B2
  • Willingness for national and especially international worldwide assignments with up to
  • up to 80 % travel activity
  • Flexible, resilient and communicative team player
  • Flair for pragmatic and unconventional solutions with high quality and safety standards.
