About The Role

The internship position within the technology department of iptiQ focuses on one of the engineering functions of Site Reliability, Product, Test, or Data Engineering.

During the internship, you will be an integral part of the team, taking part in the development of new features, and participating in code reviews, testing, and operational activities.

You will have the chance to learn best practices, explore new technologies, and get a grasp of our products and the world of insurance.

You can learn more below about the different functions, for which we offer internships below:
  • Site Reliability Engineering: As a Site Reliability Engineer you will be responsible for enabling developers securely develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain their applications in different environments. You will also develop the necessary tools required to enable Technology teams to follow DevOps and SRE best practices.
  • Product Engineering: As a Product Engineer you will be responsible for the development of our platform. You will be working at the core of our insurance product, writing the business logic that serves our customers, and taking an idea all the way to our production systems.
  • Test Engineering: As a Test Engineer you will be responsible to help teams deliver high-quality software with high frequency. You will contribute to the development of new features, test automation (frameworks), and process improvements.
  • Data Engineering: As a Data Engineer intern you will be responsible for the ingestion and processing of data onto our Data Platform, the creation, and maintenance of data models, the implementation of measures for Data Quality Monitoring as well as taking part in some of our reporting and data integration activities.
The internship is for a period of 6 months.

About You
  • Currently enrolled in or just graduated with a STEM degree such as Computer Science, Engineering, ...
  • Programming skills, e.g. in Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Javascript, ...
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
What we offer

As a scale-up embedded within an organization known for its high-caliber talent, we offer a supportive environment, in which you can learn about working in technology and insurance. You will work on actual problems and receive guidance and support from experienced engineers. Additionally, we can provide an internship allowance of up to CHF 4.200 per month.

Our Recruiting Process

For this position, you can generally expect a hiring process similar to the following one:
  • Qualified candidates receive feedback concerning their application from our Recruiting team. You will be evaluated on educational credentials, open-source contributions, personal projects, etc..)
  • A HackerRank exercise and a take-home exercise, which will be reviewed by our engineering team.
  • A technical interview (remote): covering technical, business, and attitude topics.
