About Our Client

We are currently recruiting for our client, a leading international company active in the pharmaceutical sector, with modern offices in the canton of Lucerne, a Specialist Microbiology in a temporary position starting asap for the next 12 months, with the option of extension or take-over.

Work is mainly onsite.

Job Description

As a member of the Quality Control Microbiology team, the Specialist Microbiology will support production and release of new clinical candidates with environmental monitoring and testing of Drug Substance (DS), Drug Product (DP) and all in-process intermediates thereof. In this position the selected candidate will be responsible for the following task area:

  • Reviewing raw data on paper and in electronic data management systems and data trending
  • Managing microbiological studies and projects
  • Authoring SOPs, as well as qualification and validation protocols and reports
  • Performing microbiological laboratory work in support of current projects
  • Initiating, processing, and closing of deviation records and change controls
  • Supporting together with the global team the totality of the portfolio including small molecule, biologics and vaccines incl. the assessment and introduction of rapid microbiological methods (RMM), other
  • new technologies and automation to eventually allow more efficient and faster testing and release of
  • DS and DP
  • Additional tasks according to experience

The Successful Applicant

In order to be considered for the role, the selected candidate must have:

  • Master in microbiology or related field with 1+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry; OR Bachelor OR completed apprenticeship (lab technician EFZ subject Biology) with 3+ years of relevant experience in the pharma industry (GMP experience is a MUST)
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Ability to work in a team environment with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to deliver results on deadlines
