As a Specialist in Packaging Sustainability, ‎you will manage packaging innovation projects for climate neutrality, and contribute to the Nestlé packaging sustainability journey.

A day in the life of a Specialist in Packaging Sustainability
  • Proactively propose and drive new ideas and projects to R&D teams, and Operations in the area of packaging sustainability, GHG emissions, and virgin plastic reduction
  • Assess environmental performance of packaging systems proposed by innovation teams at the Nestlé Institute of Packaging Science
  • Translate scientific knowledge to product innovation and application
  • Provide accurate and on-time advice and support to the research efforts designed by R&D teams, Business Units and Operations
  • Contribute to peer reviewed scientific publications, scientific communications, and patents
  • Actively monitor relevant external partners (academic and industry) and support in selection and set up of strategic relationships when relevant

What Will Make You Successful
  • Ph.D. in packaging or material sciences, sustainability, or environmental sciences, on topics related specifically to greenhouse gas emissions and life cycle assessment
  • 3-5 years’ experience in packaging environmental sustainability
  • Knowledge and proficiency of sustainability issues in packaging
  • Strong track record in scientific communication, including presentations at scientific meetings
  • Collaborative and positive mindset
  • Fluent in English
