Six end-to-end Therapeutic Areas (TAs) remain the foundation of the Janssen organizational model. One of these is the CVM-PH TA, ie Cardiovascular and Metabolism and Pulmonary Hypertension TA. The TA model, with end-to-end strategy, development, and value-creation accountability, enables Janssen to attract top talent, gain deep scientific and market insights in each TA, increase pipeline productivity, and sustain growth by empowering TA teams to operate with speed, agility, and deep knowledge in their respective TA space.

The Sr Manager, Global Commercial Insights incumbent is the first point of contact for Actelion GCSO and Regional IBVT Teams. S/he designs and leads strategic commercial insights initiatives with a focus on the ’Global Data Pool’ creation, development and maintenance, in CVM-PH (Pulmonary Hypertension) indications, with an initial focus in PAH (Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension).
Through advanced analytics, s/he drives a deep understanding of the market dynamics and anticipates the future market dynamics plays an influential role in the organization guiding decision-making. S/he is a trusted and valued strategic partner for the Global Strategy Marketing, External Innovation teams and the Regions by proactively identifying global challenges and opportunities, via the application of best in class forecasting & advanced business analytics.
S/he also works closely with the Director Global Commercial Insights CVM-PH to identify and implement best practices driving customer’s centricity & innovation.

’Global Data Pool’ is a Global initiative designed to empower advanced analytics and agile market and performance reporting across Global, Regional & Local Commercial Operations functions in CVM-PH TA. It is a key enabler of impactful, market and customers’ insights-led decision making for current and future business opportunities.



Critical responsibilities and activities are:

  • Overall stewardship of the ’Global Data Pool’
  • Co-creation and maintenance of a robust governance framework to create the “rules of operation” of this multi-stakeholder & multi-data sources environment
  • Ensures the availability and the quality of the data regarding correctness, reliability and validity
  • Enhancement of harmonized processes
  • Deployment of novel reporting systems, incl. impactful visualizations
  • Co-creation & development of Monthly/Quarterly Global Market Dashboards/Performance reviews
  • Leading the design & implementation of new forecast models
  • Ensuring rigor, transparency & robustness of forecast assumptions
  • Driving data-led conversations with the objective to identify risks & opportunities for the business (mid & long term, incl. Monte Carlo analysis) through secondary data, primary market research & competitive intelligence insights
  • Growth of the organization in terms of advanced analytics & forecasting competences

The role holder will work in close collaboration with, and at the interface of our Global, Regional commercial teams, Insights teams, IT teams and finance teams. S/he will be standing as a Strategic Business partner, and supervise one direct report.

Other Critical Business Activities:

  • Develops training concepts and supports the training needs supporting the institutionalization of the ‘Global Data Pool’
  • Actively champion customers centricity: identification of forums to embed customers & market insights, of potential partners enabling the activation of these insights
  • Stay abreast of the most innovative practices in the advanced analytics insights arena (healthcare & fast consumer goods industry), and identify opportunities for pilot
  • Partner with the IT teams to manage the budget of the ’Global Data Pool’
  • Be the reference point regarding Code of Conduct in place in the area of BA, MR & CI and ensure diligent compliance

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline that should include some economic, mathematical or statistical element and business informatics.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry including Consultancy background dedicated to Pharma/Lifescience industry, and changes in the business model (current trends and outlook).
  • Experience in international environment
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Leadership skills in order to motivate influence and provide guidance to peers and seniors. Empowering people to act, enabling them to achieve their goals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the critical business questions and drivers of performance of the therapeutic area.
  • Strategic thinker and positive challenger.
  • Very strong analytical skills with problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of change management - driver of business and transformation.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with a demonstrable ability to present complex issues and findings to a wide audience base.

The position is based in Allschwil, Switzerland and will involve international travel (<40%)
