Supplier Development & Quality Manager

To support the supply chain division, we are looking for an ambitious Supplier Development & Quality Manager for an international Swiss company with their head office based in Canton St. Gallen, either immediately or by agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive performances of local supply base and supplier relationship for both local consumption and exports
  • Lead the local team of SDQ secure team performances and people engagement
  • Insure Global alignment and standards processes and tools across sites
  • Support local site internal stakeholders e.g. functions like R&D, OPS (Plants, SCM, Buyers), Product Management, Quality, etc.
  • Support purchasing in the implementation of supplier strategies and sourcing decisions
  • Maintain supplier list for the site with Audit dates/score and highlight strategic supplier
  • Monitoring and Reporting of supplier quality performance within its commodity
  • Support the definition and implementation of supplier guidelines, quality standards and processes
  • Run ESI (Early Supplier Involvement) meeting with R&D for key components/modules
  • Support Regional Buyers in negotiations for quality/process related costs
  • Supplier risk and performance management and respective actions plans

To succeed in the role of Supplier Development & Quality Manager you are an experienced supply chain professional, result driven and a great leadership skills

Key Requirements:


  • Master degree in Engineering,
  • Experience in applying Q-methods (APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, SPC, Etc.)
  • 10+ years experience in similar position or as industrial supplier/quality management for an international company
- Good knowledge of Standards and customer requirements as well as component- and tolerance requirements
  • Good knowledge of production techniques and –processes
  • High Self-reliance
  • Strategic thinking and able to get results through others
  • Good leadership and communication skills.
  • Used to work in matrix organization
  • Willingness to travel abroad (20-30%)
  • Fluent in English and German
