Support Engineer

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Type: permanent

Role Objective

Role & Responsibilities

The program scope involves supporting the in-car mapping technology of the Street View fleet of vehicles in several countries having the ability to analyze problems and return quick solutions to challenging issues. System Admins will troubleshoot issues with equipment connectivity by going through logs, testing camera systems’ connections and supporting Engineers to identify root cause issues and testing possible solutions. In addition, System Admins to help improve current scripts or develop new ones to make troubleshooting easier or more robust. Examples of responsibilities :
  • Analyze daily failures and proactively partake in corrective action and engineering change strategies
  • Ensure software compatibility of newer/upgraded hardware devices and for International configurations
  • Diagnose and resolve systems issues by telephone and remote log in
  • Support the iterative improvement of software reliability and uptime
  • Create shell scripts to make processes more efficient
  • Testing and debugging of new software releases prior to their deployment to the global fleet


Experience / Skills
  • 3-4 years experience in scripting, programming, and coding
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience in C, C++, JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business.
  • Comfortable with a rapidly-changing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Able to work independently, motivated, proactive attitude with a passion for learning and creative problem solving
  • BS/BE degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant field
