Our client, a bank based in Zurich, is looking for a experienced System Engineer to join their information technology team.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as System Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure of the bank. This includes:

Designing, configuration, installing and maintaining of various applications and services
Monitoring performance, ensuring system availability, integrity and confidentiality
Providing second level support for systems and network and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Support and enhancement of the cyber security technology stack
Identifying and automating manual processes to reduce toil
Maintaining technical contact to vendors and providers

Key Requirements

University Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with experience involving system engineering (e.g., physics), or equivalent practical experience
3 or more years of experience in one of the following: SRE or DevOps Position, System design, complex Systems Administration and Operations
Experience in one or more of the following: Python, Bash, Java, PowerShell, GO
A Plus: Experience in monitoring and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform or Puppet
Strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft ecosystem (Windows, AD, Azure, etc.)
Strong knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS)
Strong knowledge of network concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMTP, VPNs, Firewalls, etc.),
knowledgeable on relational database technologies, practical skills in one or more: MSSQL, PostrgeSQL, MySQL
Good understanding of Virtualisation (preferable VMware vSphere), VDI (preferable Citrix XenDesktop), JIRA, Git, Docker will be an asset
Flexibility, autonomy, proactivity, innovation-oriented
Capability to manage complex environment
Ability to communicate to collect and share knowledge within and outside the team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, German is a plus
