As part of Leonardo, Kopter currently develops the AW09, a next generation single-engine helicopter that offers the largest cabin and cargo hold in its category, increased modularity and modern electronic systems. The AW09 delivers latest safety standards as well as more performance and comfort at low operating costs.

Kopter is set to become Leonardo’s Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies, contributing to the development of hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based in Switzerland, near Zurich and in Mollis (Canton of Glarus).

Your Responsibilities

►Manage a team of design engineers and systems engineers (fuel system, ECS and optional equipment)

►Planning and coordination of the design, certification and qualification activities of the aircraft systems team

►Responsible that the design of aircraft systems parts, assemblies and installations meet the applicable technical, functional and regulatory requirements

►Responsible for the coordination of the design activities with other engineering teams in regards to system interfaces and overall integration into the helicopter

Tasks

►Coordinate and manage resources, workload and deliverables within the team

►Create project plans and schedules

►Manage the aircraft systems requirements

►Coordinate activities with other engineering teams in regards to system interfaces and overall integration into the helicopter

►Review and check requirements, qualification and certification documents

►Review and check parts, assembly, and installation designs and drawings

Your Qualifications & Experience

►University degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering

►Minimum 8 years relevant aeronautical engineering experience in at least one of the relevant systems (fuel system, ECS or optional equipment: rotor brake, hoist, windshield wipers, Emergency Flotation Systems..etc.).ECS background is preferred

►Experience in leading teams (directly or technically) in an aircraft or helicopter development environment

►Supplier management skills an asset

►Aircraft or helicopter certification experience (CS 23/25/27/29)

►Helicopter experience is an asset

►Ability to work under pressure with a good sense of urgency

►English – verbal and written at minimum B2 level
