Sony Research is looking for expert researchers with passion for Machine Learning, Audio Signal Processing, Intelligent Audio Production, and Deep Generative Modeling. You will join a group of international researchers, engineers and developers working on state-of-the-art solutions for tasks related to multimodal foundation models with a strong focus on audio. The technologies developed by our group are used in entertainment studios around the world and provide creators with impactful and transformative solutions.
You will:
As a Research Scientist, you will work with other members of the team on developing innovative AI-based solutions. You will investigate, develop and apply novel machine learning algorithms that combine Audio Signal Processing and Deep Learning techniques with a strong focus on large scale models for audio understanding.
You are expected to design and implement these algorithms by applying your research, coding, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment. You will be supported in your efforts by having access to state-of-the-art resources at Sony.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other Sony research teams and Sony Business Groups such as Sony Music, Sony Pictures, and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
You will bring:
  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields
  • Record of relevant scientific publications
  • Expertise in training large scale models
  • Expertise in deep learning for audio signal analysis and synthesis
  • Proven knowledge of deep learning architecture design
  • Experience in producing high-quality and well-documented code
  • Proven coding expertise with Python
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
  • Interest in music & audio production
  • Knowledge in Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision
