Position Overview

We are building cutting-edge software to identify and analyze the exposure to climate change of companies and real estate investments. Our models cover policy and physical risks and translate these into relevant metrics for investors. It’s our goal to inform investors’ choices by exposing climate risks and to tackle climate change at the roots. Our mission is a big one and we are looking for talented people to join us.

We’re looking for a sharp, energetic, and organized intern with a positive attitude who deeply cares about environmental issues, to join our Climate Risk Center team.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Support the team in administrative tasks, as well as in the development of new features of our Asset Location database.
  • Work with our data management team, so that new data, which is coming from different sources, is correctly added to the database.
  • Work with other research teams, our development team, and other stakeholders so that they can make best use out of the asset location data.
  • Work on data science projects related to climate risks potentially including data analysis, statistical analysis, and software development.

Specific Knowledge/Skills

  • Interested in research in the fields of geospatial data, climate, environment, or sustainability.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Excel, SQL – Python, PowerBI an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with good logical aptitude
  • Independent worker as well as good team player with a strong sense of ownership

Desired Experience

  • First experience in data manipulation or software development, particularly Python, Pandas, Numpy or GIS is a plus

Desired Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a B.Sc. or M.Sc.
  • Fields of studies:
    • Environmental Sciences and Engineering
    • Geography
    • Economics
    • Sustainable Management and Technology
    • Management, Technology and Entrepreneurship
    • Data Science, Statistics
    • Or similar

  • Must be located in Zürich or willing to relocate to Zürich
  • Must be able to work in Switzerland
  • Starting ASAP
