UNICEF has set out ambitious goals for its 2022-2025 Strategic Plan to accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP), based in Geneva, aims to achieve results for children by maximizing UNICEF’s private sector fundraising, partnerships, and engagement activities, including work with National Committees, regional and country offices, and other HQ Divisions.

The PFP Innovative Finance for Children (IF4C) Unit enables, drives, and accelerates innovative alternative financing and funding solutions for children in partnership with the Private Sector through initiatives that attract investments for climate change, environment, and disaster risk reduction.

The PFP IF4C Unit seeks the services of an experienced Knowledge Management and Multimedia Design professional to produce compelling and engaging content for internal and external purposes.

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Innovation Specialist, the Digital Communication Officer will be a key member of the PFP IF4C Unit and will work closely with relevant stakeholders in PFP to produce assets aligned with the unit’s and division’s strategic priorities, as well as facilitate effective knowledge management.

The purpose of the job is to provide knowledge management and multimedia services for the PFP IF4C Team, related to Innovative Financing and UNICEF’s work on the ground. This includes a full scope of assets such as presentations, training material, modules, as well as video production and animation with an emphasis on post-production editing.

How can you make a difference?

SharePoint Administration.

Administration and maintenance of the SharePoint pages and collaboration sites of or linked to the PFP IF4C United, including Global IF4C.

Capacity Building & Knowledge Management.

Develop training and other innovative finance material for internal engagement, capacity building and knowledge management purposes. This would include training materials and virtual modules in Agora and other internal platforms.

Multimedia content creation.

Produce innovative finance multimedia content (including custom animation) that will drive external engagement and fundraising efforts through various channels and used by the PFP IF4C Unit, Senior Leadership, Country Offices and National Committees. This could include social media communications and content production, multimedia content for engaging and fundraising purposes, capturing key moments and events the PFP IF4C Unit is leading or involved in.

Deliverables

  • Creation and/or maintenance of the Global IF4C and the PFP IF4C collaboration sites.
  • Creation of communications website(s) on innovative financing materials/ initiative for internal and external audience.
  • Production of materials for the Global IF4C and the PFP IF4C collaboration sites, including animation videos and training material to drive capacity building and internal engagement within PFP and other Divisions such as Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM), Supply Division and Emergency Operations.
  • Translation of complex innovative finance concepts into simplified visual documents, animations videos and presentations, that will serve as trainings, internal and external communications, prospect and donor material, as well as National Committees capacity building.
  • Preparation of innovative finance modules on the Agora Platform on topics such as, but not limited to: impact investing, sustainable bonds/ outcome-based financing, disaster risk management and sovereign financing.
  • Production of social media content (multimedia assets and captions) on team events, key moments and IF4C initiatives, to be used by Senior Leadership of the Division, partners, vendors and National Committees.
  • Creation and administration of PFP IF4C pages on the major social media channels.
  • Production of multimedia content (proposals, presentations, videos) for engagement and fundraising purposes.
  • Production of repurposed multimedia assets to showcase the impact of UNICEF’s work on the ground.
  • Where necessary, filming UNICEF’s work in the field and/or key moments and events, to then edit these into powerful and compelling video stories for internal communication purposes, fundraising channels and engagement channels.
  • Where necessary, photographing UNICEF’s work in the field and/or key moments and events to then compile a selection of compelling photographs and captions that can be used for fundraising channels and engagement channels.
  • Working on Ad-hoc multimedia, communication and knowledge management projects with and for other stakeholders such as Office of Innovation and the Senior IF4C Convener.

Working Place

  • Geneva, Switzerland is the official duty station. (Flexible work arrangements may be applied if there is a need.

Education

  • A first-level university degree in graphic or digital design, public relations, public administration, marketing, communications, or a related field is required.

Experience

  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Experience in working with SharePoint sites required.
  • Experience in creating multimedia content and training materials is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere, photoshop, are required.
  • Experience in the creation of innovative financing content is an asset.
  • UN/UNICEF experience is an asset.
  • Experience producing internal/external communications content is an asset.

Language Requirement

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Remarks

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions. Appointments may also be subject to inoculation (vaccination) requirements, including against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid). Government employees that are considered for employment with UNICEF are normally required to resign from their government before taking up an assignment with UNICEF. UNICEF reserves the right to withdraw an offer of appointment, without compensation, if a visa or medical clearance is not obtained, or necessary inoculation requirements are not met, within a reasonable period for any reason.
