In 2021 in 57 of our clinical development programs, had a patient engagement component to obtain the patient perspective on the design and/or conduct of clinical trial and 89 included Patient Reported Outcomes. We shared simplified summaries with more than 27 000 trial participants. In 2 international summits, we brought together 1200+ patient advocates and external attendees from 71 countries, committed to innovation with patients for patients.

In the Patient Engagement Center of Excellence, provides thought leadership in designing and implementing breakthrough Patient Engagement standards, capability programs, insights and measurement frameworks and patient experience data science.

The purpose of this role is to develop and implement global enterprise-wide Capability building programs for Novartis. Shapes and contribute to external capability building programs and represent Novartis in external capability building efforts. Leads core capability and change management programs linked with implementing the PE strategy and 5 DP systematic roadmap to PE, within own function and cross functional teams. Leads the implementation of the PE knowledge management strategy. Leads execution of programs with support from internal or external service providers. Leads internal and external capability and community building efforts. Connects with external stakeholders dedicated to capability building. Leads the company wide roll out of capability programs in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Design of PE relevant platforms and tools.

Your responsibilities:
  • Identify capability needs for the PE function
  • Identify PE capability and PE knowledge as well as understanding of cross functional development and commercialization teams at global / region and country level - particularly medical, marketing, access, and public affairs.
  • Development and roll out of enterprise-wide capability building plans and community engagement plans
  • Develop capability plan and programs and roll out capability plan based on identified needs both for PE function and x functional team across NVS
  • External landscape screening on required capabilities and capability building efforts
  • Connect and synergize, integrate external trends into internal and external programs
  • Representation and contribution of Novartis in external capability building efforts
  • Design and implement PE and organizationally relevant platforms and tools (e.g. PEN, POM...) to provide a unified approach to Patient engagement and engagement criteria
  • Define internal and external PE best practice sharing approach/framework and in close collaboration with the Global and the International teams

Minimum Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in Multinationals/ 2-3 years of experience in PE with combined experience between PE / stakeholder management and development / or commercial roles in pharma industry or related and/or training or capability building expertise
  • Experience in leading external interactions with senior representatives of key healthcare stakeholders
