Our company is part of a well established, leading energy group that owns and operates plants in all over Europe.

The company is a joint-stock company specializing in trading in energy commodities, which mainly involves whole-sale transactions with natural gas, electricity, emission allowances (both financially) and other products throughout the European regions.

Our client is the newly established trading arm of the Group in Zug/Switzerland. Besides proprietary trading activities, the company is strongly focusing on dispatch, optimization and hedging of Group’s energy assets.

To support the future grow we are looking for a

Energy Flow Trader / Asset Flow Manager

To build this new department where you will be part of the team responsible for marketing of power plant productions including hedging of respective fuel needs (gas, coal, emission allowances) across the group assets based on a predefined hedging strategy.

In the daily business, the Flow Trader/Asset Flow Manager shall track European commodity markets and decide on executing and execute the hedging strategy in the best possible moment from market and credit perspective. For this purpose, the Flow Trader/Asset Flow Manager will be provided with a trading and deviation mandate to maximize profit and reduce risks.

Your Role And Responsibilities
  • Flow Trading including own execution of the deals
  • Management of the positions and P&L portfolio management books.
  • Position optimization across different markets in Europe.
  • Position tracking
  • Market Analytics
  • Strategy Development.
  • Development of new market possibilities.
  • Identification of offsetting risk across the business.

Your qualification
  • University degree, ideally in the field of economics, industrial economics or finance or mathematical or physics disciplines.
  • 3y+ prior experience in trading / marketing within the energy business in Europe, focus on power and gas or gross energy products
  • Experience of working together with producers (not spot trading)
  • Good understanding of energy commodity markets.
  • Good understanding of energy risk management techniques and hedging instruments.
  • Analytical thinking and affinity with numbers.
