As a highly skilled and creative synthesis technician/ bench chemist you will take a leading role to ensure long-term sustainable supplies to our patients.
The position is within the Global Technical R&D department of Global Drug Development. Within this organization Chemical & Analytical Development (CHAD) plays an essential role in the development of sustainable processes for manufacturing and analysis of small molecule, semi-synthetic large molecule drug substances.
Your Responsibilities:
- With your strong skill in laboratory operations, your curiosity and technical expertise, you take an important role in defining future processes and synthetic strategies for the preparation API intermediates
- In our labs, in collaboration with chemists and engineers, you will generate essential data, all relevant supporting data (preparative and analytical) to evaluate and define new synthetic processes providing best possible quality, efficiency and environmental compatibility
- As a member of the Continuous Manufacturing unit you will also collaborate to the development of innovative technologies to be applied to flow and batch processes
- Further, you will provide relevant documentation of experiments and related information in support of filing and patents
- You will also actively maintain and optimize our lab infrastructure ensuring safe and efficient execution of chemical experiments

Minimum Requirements
- We are looking for candidates with experience in chemistry and/or chemical development, ideally within a pharmaceutical company. The position is also open to candidates with advanced degrees, e.g. Master or Bachelor in Chemistry or equivalent disciplines
- We are looking for candidates with experience with automated lab devices, lab software and HPLC/UPLC/analytic systems
- Hands-on experience with technical set-up is desirable
- Experience in flow chemistry/continuous manufacturing is a benefit
- Experience on pilot scale transfer is a benefit
- Good knowledge of English (oral and written) is required
- A minimum of 3-5 years relevant professional experience in chemical process development is required.
