The Financial Accounting and Controlling manager is responsible for the following activities: GL Accounting to ensure the transactional accounting, financial control, reporting (statutory and IFRS) and consolidation for the entities assigned, Financial Planning and Analysis activities to coordinate financial planning process, ensure cost controls, and provide quality management reporting, and Project Management activities to lead and participate in cross-functional projects to implement Finance department/corporate initiatives.


Main responsibilities

GL accounting

  • Responsible for GL accounting activities across IOC entities assigned, take ownership of the accounts at general ledger as well as analytical and project level
  • Responsible for monthly closing activities, reconciliations and controls, including intra/intercompany reconciliations/reinvoicing, Value in Kind recording, timely balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, follow up and meet deadlines
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements of IOC entities (IFRS and Swiss law), including reporting package, translations and reconciliations, consolidation and preparation of the notes
  • Ensures standard accounting and operating policies, procedures and process documentation are up to date, aligned with IFRS and Swiss law, communicated, and implemented across IOC entities, including analysis of new requirements impact on the IOC group
  • Ensure all controls assigned to the function are documented, executed timely, with quality and resolutions of issues
  • Foster an effective communication, relationship, and provide customer service to both internal (Finance, IOC departments/entities) and external stakeholders
  • Manages SAP modules, including interactions with other ERP for the assigned entities, maintenance and development of accounting hierarchies and mapping, chart of accounts, foreign exchange revaluations, trial balance
  • Coordinate and provide assistance to internal and external auditors related to ad-hoc and periodic operational & financial audits
  • Involve in the review and preparation of information used for external reporting and internal reporting
  • Prepare pro-forma financial statements and other forecasts/projections as required

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Act as primary interface between Finance department and other IOC departments
  • Lead budgeting and financial forecast processes for assigned departments, including managing and continuous improvements on the tools and solutions
  • Works closely with the budget coordinators in the department in order to understand the operational aspects and supports them in using the systems for financial planning and monitoring purposes
  • Provide timely, accurate and high-quality reporting/analysis/recommendations/support for IOC departments/entities; including on the gap between the real and budgeted costs, the cost and revenue drivers, key performance indicators, budget, financial forecasts, treasury flows, and other analysis as required

Project Management

  • Lead in projects/initiatives for the Finance department / IOC wide as assigned by the CFO and management
  • Provide support to the Finance department through tools/reporting trainings and providing guidance on technical accounting matters
  • Be a key driver of the company’s standardization, use, and continual improvement of business processes including the company’s financial and management systems

Our requirements

  • Accounting/Business/Economics degree or equivalent
  • Swiss Certified Accountant certification or equivalent is a must
  • Proven experience of providing high-level support within an international or multinational company or big Four
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS and Swiss law), financial governance principles and audit practices
  • Excellent business writing and oral communications skills in English and French
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems (SAP)
  • Reporting capabilities such as SAP-BW, Business Object or Power BI is an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Detail orientation, providing completed and accurate results
  • Ability to quickly understand the task and to work independently
  • Ability to follow up and manage deadline, proritise tasks, take ownership
  • Ability to identify risk and issues, develop solutions and implement start to end
  • Ability to establish a realistic, clear and efficient course of action, to achieve objectives
